Lead Computational Biologist PhD/R&D (F/M) Single Cell Transcriptomic / Machine Learning – DEE

Currently, we are looking for a Team Leader PhD/R&D (F/M) expert in Single Cell Transcriptomic and in Machine Learning.

 

Our customer is an early-stage start-up founded in 2019, backed by international investors and developing the first SaaS platform for cellular engineering. The team develops a SaaS platform combining state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms on multi-omics sequencing data, public and private cell atlases, and proprietary deep learning-based cell engineering tools. Its goal is to supplement in vitro testing within silico simulations, and rapidly discover molecular triggers to efficiently engineer cell behaviours. Its projects are made in close collaboration with biotech and pharmaceutical companies to accelerate their drug discovery processes. Collaborations are also actively built with the academic community by publishing papers and providing open access to the platform’s features and data.

As a Lead Computational biologist, you will:

• Manage a growing team of computational biologists.
• Develop a fast and scalable machine learning framework for single cell analysis.
• Oversee the data strategy.
• Address multiple cutting-edge use cases in biology.
• Work closely with the deep learning team on the cell engineering project.
• Work closely with clients and academic community to design the best user experience.
• Publish and participate to academic conferences.
• Report directly to the CEO and CTO.
• Be part of the core team of a growing start-up.

 

We are looking for candidates with:

• A PhD in Computational biology with at least one significative post-doc experience.
• Strong background in single cell data with expertise on at least one Omic (transciptomic would be the nicest).
• Strong background in machine learning.
• Skills in software engineering: Producing, testing, review and debugging code.
• Skills in writing academic articles.
• Comfortable with networking and communicating ideas.

Experience in directing software development projects, skills in UI/UX and being AI and biology enthusiast, would be a “nice to have” for this job opportunity.
